Maisie's Beaver Bean Bag Chair

So Maisie and Cam could watch movies together in their own bean bag chairs, it was time for me to think up a themeAnimal" for Maisie.  I love that Ilea calls them the kid's "spirit animals".  I'd made Cam's penguin with pockets in the wings so he could slide his hands in, and snuggle into it.  

Hmmm, suddenly the idea of a beaver tail blanket to snuggle under, whilst sitting in a cute beaver bean bag chair seemed perfect. Thankfully I still had the pattern for the body that I made Cam's with.  Mapped out a tail in newspaper until I had the shape and size I wanted, and put velcro on the tail so it could be removed for washing.

Ta Dah!

And enough room for her friends.

Replacing the Fence

The yard fencing was tired and needed replacing.  Time for Graham to work his magic.  His vision... log posts and a new shape to the yard. After drawing up plans, Graham ordered the supplies, and hired Tony Ingram to dig the post holes (as we live in limestone country) and bring fresh soil for the new orchard area. He put the new fence wire up in sections, leaving the old fence up while he placed the posts and then took the old fence down after the new wire was strung. Once the fence was done, it was time to start of the orchard Building up retaining walls for the new mini orchard  and then filling it with new soil.  Adding branches for a decorative wind break, which the birds love!
